新たな嬉しいニュースとして、本日付で、星槎国際高等学校 湘南学習センター 3年生がＪリーグ「横浜FC」へ内定が決まりました。
今後の彼の活躍を願いつつ、応援のほどよろしくお願いいたします。

Seisa University’s Special Contract Professor, Dr. Sumana Barua, visited our Yokohama office on July 20th. He shared with us his life stories since his childhood and spoke to us about what he is doing to contribute to the world and to help children in the world.
Dr. Barua received his medical license at the University of Philippines-Manila, finished his PhD at the University of Tokyo, and served as a team leader at WHO (World Health Organization) Leprosy. He has also worked together with Mother Teresa. He continues to question what he as an individual, could do as one of the 730,000,000 people in this world, and continues to enlighten our children and youngsters in Japan.
On July 19th, the day prior to visiting our office, he spoke to our teachers enrolled in Seisa University’s Teaching License Renewal Course about “Sustainable Development Goals and Contributions Made by Educators.” The audience consisted of pre-school teachers to high school teachers all over Japan. He gave them several hints on how they could use the SDGs in their classrooms.
Our schools have been participating in the “UN Academic Impact,” so there was much to learn from Dr. Barua, and we would like to keep devoting ourselves towards our fundamental principle goals.
73億分の一：私にできること
星槎大学特任教授のスマナ・バルア博士が横浜事務所に7月20日にお越しになり、生い立ちを含めたこれまでの人生と、現在取り組んでいる世界への貢献、子ども達の支援等についてお話をして下さいました。
バルア博士は、フィリピン国立大学で医師免許をとり、東京大学大学院で博士号を取得し、WHO世界保健機関のハンセン病対策のトップを務めた方です。
マザーテレサと一緒に活動をされたこともあります。
世界の人口73億人の中の一人として、自分がこの社会のためにできることは何かを問いかけ、今後も日本の子どもや学生たちにいろいろなことを伝えていってくださいます。
この訪問に先立つ7月19日には、星槎大学教員免許状更新講習では、「持続可能な開発目標SDGsと教員による貢献」と題し、テレビ会議システム等で本講習を受講されていらっしゃる全国の幼稚園から高校までの学校の先生に向けて、授業でいかにSDGｓを組み込むことができるかについてのヒントをお話ししてくださいました。
国連アカデミックインパクト参加校の本学にとって、バルア博士からの学びは多く、これからも目標として掲げた原則に取り組んでいきたいと思います。

～星槎（軟式野球）からは、福岡と東京で全国大会の代表となりました～
都道府県別の最後の代表を決める東京都大会が先週末に行われました。第67回東京都軟式野球選手権大会兼第63回全国大会東京都予選準決勝で見事勝利し、2位以内が確定したため、創部6年目で全国切符を得ることが出来ました。立八（立川、八王子の略称）ベースボールクラブでスタートしてから思い起こされる日々…、悲願達成です。
全国大会は8月14日（日）から17日（水）で行われます。一足早く全国大会出場を決めた三大会連続出場中の星槎福岡と共に、全国大会での上位進出を目指します。
会場は明治神宮球場、駒沢オリンピック公園硬式野球場、大田スタジアム、府中市民球場、江戸川区球場、葛飾区総合スポーツセンター野球場です。

部活動に力を入れている星槎国際高等学校で、嬉しい結果が続出しておりますので、ご報告させていただきます。全国で学ぶ星槎の仲間が、各地域の大会に数多く挑戦し結果を出しております。
一例として、先月行われました広島県定時制通信制陸上競技大会において、素晴らしい結果を残しました。3年生の友谷君が3000m障害にて大会新記録で優勝いたしました。このタイムは、昨年度の全国優勝タイムを約40秒上回っており、全国大会での活躍が大いに期待されています。
また、他のメンバーも優秀な成績を残しております。
3年友谷：3000ｍ障害 優勝（大会新）、5000ｍ 優勝
3年落合：100ｍ 優勝、走り幅跳び 優勝
3年村井：1500ｍ 優勝、5000ｍ 優勝
3年前田：400ｍ 準優勝、400Ｈ 3位
2年寺口：800ｍ 3位、1500ｍ 7位
2年西川：200ｍ 4位、100ｍ 4位
2年寺戸：走り幅跳び 4位
2年湯浅：100ｍ 4位
毎年、100名を超える生徒が全国大会へ出場しています。
7月下旬には、星槎高尾キャンパスにて行われる全国大会強化合宿も予定されております。
星槎全体としても、生徒たちから多くのエネルギーをもらっています。
